This item is handy and does almost exactly what you want it to - creates a black background that adds depth to your aquarium. But it REFLECTS! I wasn't aware of this when I bought the product. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but I wanted to add a black background to my betta aquarium... a few minutes after I lay down my betta started spreading its fins and attacking the wall because it was seeing its own reflection . I didn't want to emphasize it further, so I removed it. TLDR… this item is reflective so make sure the tank you put it in has fish that don't care if they see their own reflection.
