Very easy installation and economical option. Eventually, though, I'll probably look for another option that's more durable. The black color doesn't block 100% of the light (it's more of a very dark matte black). It scratches very easily! Even with a wet tool and light pressure, I managed to smear some of the black pigment on the back.

This item is handy and does almost exactly what you want it to - creates a black background that adds depth to your aquarium. But it REFLECTS! I wasn't aware of this when I bought the product. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but I wanted to add a black background to my betta aquarium... a few minutes after I lay down my betta started spreading its fins and attacking the wall because it was seeing its own reflection . It was fairly easy to fit. my fish tank. Then I used a Kitchen-Aid bowl scraper because it's flat and long and pressed some on the background. I just kept slowly peeling off the paper and smoothing out the film on the glass. on ok but it really needs to be wider/taller. I have a medium sized 20 gallon rectangular tank. The length was perfect but the height is way shorter than it should be. The gap where everything settled in the tank . Plants also help hide it, but it really needs to be over 12

I think the product is worth the price. The truth is, I'm not sure the ease of use and overall look beats just sticking black construction paper on an aquarium. Or, if you want to make a permanent change, paint the rear window black. Even with a fairly careful search for bubbles, there's a slight difference in the dark. At the end of the day it doesn't matter, the plants will cover most of it and the black will ooze through, but I think it's worth mentioning if you're picky. Here's what I would
