Great for ironing, but I use it as a work surface for felting wool pictures with a needle instead of foam rubber. Unlike some others, it has no extraneous odor (smells clean). This is the perfect size for needle felting as well as quick pressing. When it comes to woolen goods, it is also important to me that animals are treated with care and that no ugly cuts (such as mulesing, a cruel method used by unscrupulous wool trading companies) are made. When I read about this company I am convinced that the wool is humanely harvested and organic and has not undergone any toxic treatments. I would highly recommend this product and to my fellow needle felters yes it is thinner than the foam we buy but just prick a little flat and know it will last under our needles for a very long time!
