I needed to reduce the temperature in a room that sees a lot of direct sunlight. After researching tint I found this product that offers a security advantage over regular tint. The ad stated the product would reduce heat. I purchased and installed on a dual pane sliding glass door with vertical blinds. The install went well and and product was packaged well and appears to be of decent quality. My problem is after installing, the temperature of the sliding glass door and room went up dramatically. So much so that you can not leave your hand on the tint and my ac could no longer cool the room. I then researched and learned that dark tint is very bad for dual pane glass as the reflected and absorbed heat off the tint on the inside pane is directed and captured in the space between the panes. 20% tint is not to be placed on dual pane glass I found out. I brought this up to the seller since the ad made no mention of this and they were no help at all stating "Comparing the heat reduction to blinds (especially if they were white) will lead to unsatisfactory results." So I wasted $100 and a few hours. If an increase in temp do to direct sunlight is not an issue then this may be an ok product for you as it still appears to be well made. Just don't expect any help from the seller if you have a problem. .For an update the seller has since refunded my money and offered options for different products that may work better. I have changed my review to reflect the refund and better customer service.
