They are cheap because of the very poor quality. The first one I received literally fell apart after taking it out of the box (see photo). I can only imagine if I installed it and it would fall apart after a while. What a disaster that would be. As the first one failed I ordered a second one thinking maybe it was just a bad one but the second one I got was even worse than the first. The second has a broken handle. It has clearly been used and returned by someone (see photo). Looks like someone else bought it and installed it only for the grip to fail after a while. They then sent it back to send it back to me. After getting two faulty faucets in a row I ditched those cheap faucets and just bought the brand mentioned at my local hardware store. It was more money, but the quality was noticeably better. After all, you get what you pay for when it comes to bathroom fixtures.
