I was looking for an alternative to the webcam built into my laptop. When I'm in the office, I use an external monitor and don't like meetings where I look at my monitor instead of the camera and speak directly to the meeting participants. But I also didn't want to rob the bank because I paid for it, not my company. It was also important to have a camera that could zoom in and out. Other cameras I tried had such a wide angle and I didn't want to show as much of my cluttered office. What I like about this camera: image quality, price, zoom options, size, ease of use. What I don't like about this camera: Zooming is done manually with a button on the back of the camera, not through my computer's settings; The zoom setting must be reset each time the computer is restarted. So every morning when I turn on the camera for the first meeting of the day, I have to remember to raise my hand and manually adjust the zoom. The camera has a built-in ring light, but it doesn't bring any noticeable light into my office, which is well-lit, so I don't even use it. All in all I would recommend this camera if you are in the budget webcam market.
