I bought these to replace a used pair I bought six years ago. They rusted the first time I used them and I haven't used them since. I wanted to send them back but now the return period has expired. I've had it for five weeks now and only used it once hence the one star. I use my old scissors because they are still better than these. The first thing I noticed was a pronounced gap between the slats when closed (Fig.). The blades are curved (for a tighter cut?) but grinding the metal was awkward. They were difficult to cut at first, but by the time I finished chopping a pound of chicken they were softer. This only increased my concerns as I was worried about metal shavings in my food. After use, I cleaned them and, as always, put them upside down in the dishwasher. When I put them away the next day, I noticed rust on the tip where it hit the drain plastic (the water must not have evaporated quickly enough from the contact). They have been in my box ever since. I recommend trying a different brand. For quality and safety reasons.
