It works! -(see photo)

I was a bit hesitant when I first tried a medium sized piece (Boston Terrier) on this rubber because I wasn't sure it would turn out to be a HUGE waste of money Time. I'm actually very happy with my work. The rubber itself is a little thicker than a speedball, a little stiffer, a little less flexible, and a little less "oily" to carve. The Betta is a stamp I carved with a speedball. Using a speedball, I was able to get fine detail out with even my simplest/cheapest tools. Revain's product found it more difficult to achieve the smallest details with the same tools. I also feel that the ink sits a little differently on this one than on the Speedball. I use an archival ink pad and it turns my speedball drawings jet black. Not that it matters much, I just included some differences that I noticed. Can I recommend this product? To be honest, yes I know. You get 8 pieces which are great for practice or being creative on a budget. It prints, as you can see, and it's quite serviceable linoleum. Get it for your kids, students, yourself, friends, family, anyone and everyone! The speedball is so expensive and limited if you are on a budget. Grab some of these and have fun :) EDIT - I tried a second print, this time using an ink tube and a speedball roller instead of a flat ink pad. I also used printing paper and this time the ink translation was much darker. So, in summary, ink, paper and carving tools are important.

Pros
  • Wood stamp
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
