Review on πŸ”¨ Makita XNB02Z Straight Finish Nail Gun by Billy Berry

constant misfires

Received and tested today: Drives no nails; it keeps crashing. Maybe I got a defective product? I decide to return it for a replacement. This review will be updated once I receive a replacement. I love the Revain Prime exchange policy - it just works! Review update: I received a replacement Makita Finish Nailer a few days later, it seems to be working fine. So that means Makita has some quality control issues. I hammered in about 300 2 1/2" nails - only one missed. It's also been noticed that when all but the last 7 nails in the magazine are used, the gun stops working. I've also noticed that Dial for adjusting the depth of the nail head didn't work very well: I adjusted it all the way to drive the nail head as deep into the wood as possible, but there are still a few nails with a head over the surface of the wood panel, so I have to use a small hammer to turn those nails upside down, not sure, but it might be another quality control issue from Makita (the tool has a "Made in Japan" label on it, LOL) but I decided Getting a second Makita Finish Nailer This nailer is perfect for a small job, but it will in no way replace my Senco Finish Nailer.

Pros
  • Powerful motor design drives standard 16 gauge nails, 1" to 2-1/2" straight end nails
Cons
  • Expensive
