Review on πŸ”’ Tailgate Lock Actuator Motor for Ford, Mazda, and Mercury Models - Dorman 937-663 by Roger Weinmunson

Don't take it to a mechanic to fix it, you can do it yourself!

I have a 2009 Ford Escape and they have a history of the lock actuator failing and staying closed due to water ingress. I had a trunk latch that hadn't locked for 9 months. I went to the dealer and got an offer of over $600 to fix the problem. After doing some research I found that this is a very common problem and there are several articles and YouTube videos with step-by-step instructions on how to fix the problem yourself. This part is perfect, you don't need to buy an auto manufacturer part, it works exactly the same. and save $40. I would recommend purchasing the seal and adhesive at the same time as purchasing this product as you really need to replace the latch and seal at the same time for this repair to make a difference.
