Not suitable for high sediment applications
I have horrible well water, full of iron sediment and very rich in minerals. I bought this as a pre-filter for a Pentek DGD-2501-20 hoping it would last longer between replacements. This paper filter lasted less than half an hour before it completely clogged. In contrast, the DGD-2501-20 lasts up to three months on its own. I have tried another filament wound pre-filter, Hydronix SWC-45-2050, and it has been running for two months with no noticeable drop in flow. Maybe a paper filter will work for a small amount of sediment in city water, but not for my nasty wells.
