Review on Faster Bottling Made Easy with the FastRack 4008 Colt Strong Bench Capper Multicolor – One Pack! by Jason Martinez

So far so good for brewing

I used this capper to cap 45 bottles of my first brewed beer as well as a few other individual bottles. The leverage/pressure to get the job done feels a bit too much, but once the "feel" gets used to it, it's not too bad. Crimping caps requires more force than you might think. especially since it is your precious drink and contains a lot of glass. but so far no problems. Let's see if all caps hold up during carbonation! I use this when screwing to a table. A word to the wise: do not put open bottles on the same table. I did and got away with it this time, but I think it would be better not to put a bunch of bottles with caps on the same table as a capper like this when the table is really strong. "squeeze" Then I turn the bottle 90 degrees and squeeze again. I'm not sure if this is necessary, but I've seen mention of doing this with other cappers. The "squeeze" is felt best when the bottle is square and centered, and the pressure is so great that you can just about feel the sudden "kickback" at the end. The more centered and square the bottle is on the pillow, the more comfortable it feels. I have no idea how long this thing will last. The construction seems solid, but my biggest concern is that the ridge at the base of the grip that pushes the plunger down is plastic. I don't know whether to lubricate or not. If it wears too much the piston won't push enough, but I think I've heard that from other reviewers. ?

Pros
  • Bottling and bottling
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
