A huge upgrade over the manual capper.

This thing saves lives. I had the standard manual capper that came with my homebrew kit, but on my last batch it failed to cap nearly 1/3 of my bottles (seemed to slip most of the time); not what you want to get by spending time and money on a 5 gallon batch. It's obviously a lot more expensive, but if you're not planning on having a keg, I think it's a must-try. I just completed another batch and capped 50 bottles in literally a quarter of the time without a single mistake using at least 5…

So far so good for brewing

I used this capper to cap 45 bottles of my first brewed beer as well as a few other individual bottles. The leverage/pressure to get the job done feels a bit too much, but once the "feel" gets used to it, it's not too bad. Crimping caps requires more force than you might think. especially since it is your precious drink and contains a lot of glass. but so far no problems. Let's see if all caps hold up during carbonation! I use this when screwing to a table. A word to the wise: do not put open…

Pros
  • Bottling and bottling
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

NOT ready for delivery!

So there's a spring in the bolt head on this thing, right? It's a damn strong spring and its purpose is to push the cap and bottle back out of the capping head once you've placed the capping head on the cap and bottle. So I start using a capping machine. Light, straight. Seems to be an improvement over the manual capper I've been using for the past year. Except. I cap the bottle and lift the lever and the bottle rises with the capper and hangs there, hanging on the cap. As I stare in amazement,
