NOT ready for delivery!

So there's a spring in the bolt head on this thing, right? It's a damn strong spring and its purpose is to push the cap and bottle back out of the capping head once you've placed the capping head on the cap and bottle. So I start using a capping machine. Light, straight. Seems to be an improvement over the manual capper I've been using for the past year. Except. I cap the bottle and lift the lever and the bottle rises with the capper and hangs there, hanging on the cap. As I stare in amazement, the cap flies out of {something} in the capper's head and the bottle bounces off the liner at the bottom of this thing with a loud ->BOOM<-. Luckily my hand is still close to the bottle so I can catch it. Oh, a little backstory. Is the pillow underneath? Look, it's not exactly a pillow. This is NOT a GASKET. It's more like that. a. a "visual cue" to help you more or less center the bottle before attempting to close it. It's terribly hard plastic, maybe steel. So I figured I did something wrong (? me?) and tried another bottle. He rises again, and this time my hand rises with him so I can try to control the situation while the corker lets go. Yes but. it will NOT let go. The bottle is hanging there, hanging out like a teenager on a couch playing video games. I grip the bottle tightly and try to loosen it from the closure head by slipping my little finger under it so that this time the bottle doesn't hit the surface so hard ->BOOM<-. -->BOOM<-. My little finger was still there. Ever accidentally put a car on your pinky or hit it with a nail hammer? It was like this. WOW. NEVER get between your bottle and that pillow-like thing! That's great! Dazed and confused, I tried closing the lid again and only got a loud ->KANG<- which was really confusing but (partially) tolerable. I have to close this party, and. OF COURSE they know what they're doing, right? Otherwise they wouldn't be selling the capper, would they? Absolutely. "wear". Maybe I got a loud ->BANG<- from half a dozen bottles when the corker let go of the bottle. Then. it escalated and I ended up in a puddle of beer and broken brown glass; This trigger spring tried to blow my bottle completely THROUGH the plastic seal at the bottom. Glass was everywhere, beer trying to follow. The mice are going to have an exceptionally good night in my bottling area tonight. Here I sat with at least five more liters of beer in the bottle and about half as much nerves as at the beginning. It won't be your favorite night this week. As luck would have it, yesterday I received a bunch of electronic parts wrapped in thin (1/4 inch) sealed cell rubber foam. This substance closed the "cushion" on this self-defense covering device and then proceeded to cover again. The rest of my bottles. Carefully. After a while he mostly calmed down and stopped -> FUCKING <- clinking my bottles. Maybe there was a groove or ridge inside the capper, I don't know, I just know I bottled this batch and I will not recommend this capper to any of my brewing friends. without a piece of foam rubber with sealed cells. Let's see what happens next time. MAN, my finger hurts! Broken? I don't know and it probably doesn't matter. I am unable to splint. That.
