I bought this for a 3 week trip to Europe. First tested in the US - worked well. With the basic adapter it worked without any problems in the Czech Republic, Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. You really don't need a converter. As others have pointed out, at first glance this straightening iron is shockingly small, especially if you're used to full-size straightening irons. However, I wanted to save space and weight in my hand luggage. I have long, medium-thick hair, mostly straight. I use a flat iron for some random curls and waves that I can't otherwise avoid. It took me no more time with this straightener than with a full size straightener. Great buy, especially for the price.
