This CRS works in my living room and HEX in my basement. OSPF is configured between them and works fine. The associated trunk ports on both routers connected to the Cisco managed switches are working without any issues. I am using a Cisco SFP copper module on my CRS as an uplink to my hEX. I configured multiple VLANs on both devices and an isolated guest VLAN. You must enable UPNP or port forwarding if you have Directv services or game consoles on your network. If I have a complaint about their DHCP services, My FireTV will not renew the lease for any reason. Of course you can hardcode a static address, but I went the other way and configured RaspberryPI for DHCP with Dnsmasq and it worked fine. Use the relay option on your layer 3 or add an auxiliary address to the managed switch anyway. As you can see, you can make these Mikrotik devices work like Cisco routers and switches in large enterprises. Or you can set up a simple home network and it will work just like a Linksys, Netgear or Dlink home router.
