Usually your Maglite is pretty old right? This allows oxidation on the switch contacts and anywhere power gets to the lamp, including the battery compartment (spring, end cap, threads and positive terminal). So if your newly purchased LED bulb is flickering, you probably have dimmed contacts. Clean them with contact cleaner and test the switch and that should improve it. LEDs obviously draw less current than incandescent bulbs, so they can't overcome the higher resistance of dimmed contacts. This LED is much brighter than the original but has a green/amber tint. For 10€ I expect better. I can buy 4 packs of 800w A19 bulbs for less and they produce a much better white light than these.
