If your light is flickering or flashing it is

Usually your Maglite is pretty old right? This allows oxidation on the switch contacts and anywhere power gets to the lamp, including the battery compartment (spring, end cap, threads and positive terminal). So if your newly purchased LED bulb is flickering, you probably have dimmed contacts. Clean them with contact cleaner and test the switch and that should improve it. LEDs obviously draw less current than incandescent bulbs, so they can't overcome the higher resistance of dimmed contacts…

Nice upgrade for older Maglites with 2 cells D or C. Gives new life to an old Maglite.

This LED lamp brings an old Maglite lamp back to life. Maglites that have a PR style bulb seem to convert very easily. Remove old bulb and insert new LED bulb, tighten silver ring, done. However, the Xenon Maglite needs a bit of work, at least mine does. The silver ring that holds the XENON bulb was slightly smaller in inner diameter and had to be enlarged, I might add cautiously. A hand reamer or rounded file will do the job. After that, the lightbulb falls and the Maglight is transformed. A…

Not as advertised but works better than expected.

When I ordered this lamp I wanted 200lm light output with two D cell batteries, that's what I ordered. I have an old Maglight bulb that will replace this bulb and a newer version with a 140 lumen LED, both with very similar body shapes and on/off buttons (as well as the latest 560 lumen flashlights). . I wanted to upgrade my old incandescent bulb to 200 lumens so both bulbs would roughly match. When the new LED bulb arrived I confirmed it was what I ordered, P135-3W2C, and the label on the bulb
