I have had Omni-Filter for over 15 years. They no longer support the old canister so I had to upgrade to this one. Attachment has been greatly improved, but you really need to add a plywood backing or 2x4 horizontal bolt if you're unsure of a good attachment point. I used a small piece of MDO plywood as a mounting board and attached it first. The screws provided to attach the canister are too small and you will need a washer for extra support with the final installation. I used a real joist like this for the patio (you can buy them separately from Lowes) and added my washers. You need to pre-drill a hole to start building or you'll rip the MDO to hell. This provided a perfect fit due to the hole size pre-punched in the filter housing. I was then able to install exactly where I wanted on my MDO board and tighten everything VERY securely without over tightening. Installing those bulky things under the sink is never easy, but think wisely and you can do it. Install it on a sheet of plywood instead of studs or on the cabinet itself and you'll be golden. Shark-shaped pipelines connect you in 1 minute. I recommend a shark-type check valve for the discharge side, or both sides if you're inclined. They are cheap and make replacing the old filter easier.
