I've been using a Canon 50/1.4 and 40/2.8 for several years now, but I've always wanted a fast standard lens with IS. Tamron 45/1.8 is the first lens of its class for full-frame cameras. I want to start with a fly in the ointment. After the aforementioned lenses, not the highest speed and tenacity of autofocus immediately catches your eye, especially in twilight. For those wishing to shoot fast moving objects (like small children or kittens), I advise you to shoot with this lens before buying, so as not to be disappointed. On the other hand, the Canon EF 50 / 1.4, with faster autofocus, has a very unreliable design that tends to suck dust with a retractable proboscis and fail under mechanical stress and even just over time. In this regard, Tamron with its internal focusing looks preferable. On all other fronts, the lens performs excellently. The optics are very good: it is sharp throughout the frame, starting with an open aperture (closing the aperture noticeably improves the corners and slightly improves the center), has slight vignetting and distortion, small HA (but there is color illumination of the blur zone). The design is excellent - moisture protection (a dream of a tourist photographer), high-quality assembly, a convenient hood in the kit, the stabilizer allows you to confidently shoot at 1/8 s. Thanks to the stabilizer, this lens on a modern full-frame camera allows you to confidently shoot handheld in conditions where nothing is visible in the viewfinder, and there is nothing for autofocus to focus on. The dimensions of the lens are large, which is typical for modern high-quality optics. A camera with a 45mm Tamron already barely fits into a small bag designed for EF50 / 1.4 and similar models. However, the mass is quite small. With fast autofocus here, this lens would definitely be recommended for all applications. But in terms of the combination of qualities, I put 5 points as a combat-camping lens and 4 points as a home lens for shooting children and kittens.
