If your desk or table already has a hole drilled, remember that the inside diameter (this socket should "blunt") is 50 mm and not 2 inches. It will be a little loose. Others have stated (including me before) that the inside diameter is 1-7/8 inches. This applies to the "bottom" but the "cylinder" is tapered. up to 50mm and a 1-7/8" hole isn't wide enough to fully install the bushing. If your table doesn't already have a hole, if you have time you should probably be able to get your hands on the bushing before you start cutting!Measure seven times, cut once, but the most important thing is the size at the widest point of the "insert", as I said, that's 50mm, just under two inches (1.97 inches). a forstner bit (if the table is wood) instead of a hole saw - more accurate and smooth. 50mm would be ideal, 2" would do.
