I had an electrician install it so I know the problem is with the product. They generated such heat at the joint that they melted the plastic plugs that were there for safety. I went to an electronics store and bought the real ones - with the real company name on them to show someone was behind the product - and installed them myself. No problems. The firing and melting melted cheap metal wires and caps, requiring them to be cut off rather than just unscrewed. And when they merged, of course, they didn't work. Luckily they are low voltage so nothing bad happened. Don't buy this. They're just cheap and dangerous.
