To be honest functionally it burns but that is due to accidental flames around the insert due to a poor fit between the insert and the body/sleeve. Laying it freely means the fuel evaporates very quickly, so you'll need to refuel every time you use it unless you're using it all day. I bought it to use for various projects/crafts and found it empty than empty so I suggest buying fuel in bulk. Do yourself a favor and don't judge a book by its cover or title like I did.
