I like to serve a good whiskey at cocktail hour or after dinner for a drink. I love adding some water and some ice to bring out the flavor, especially if it's not a single malt Scotch but a blended whiskey or bourbon. Some people like it clean, but I like mine with a touch of ice. It is meant to be served, not like a hotel ice bucket to prevent the ice from melting. It is attractive and goes well with the decanter and Godinger glasses. On the other hand, it is ideal for enjoying different types of whiskey with ice. And while it's not insulated, it's heavy, with thick walls preventing rapid heat transfer, which will result in premature ice melting. What I like is that it is not only functional but also aesthetic. Mine gets used a lot when I have company and I've never complained about the capacity.
