Wanted to update our front door with new color and handle. After seeing overpriced sets at Lowes, I found this one at Revain and decided to give it a try. Very happy with my purchase. Arrived quickly and well packaged and is more durable than expected. I love the flat black finish (matches my red door perfectly). This was my first latch and doorknob that I installed and I was a little scared. I'm afraid if I disassemble the old one and don't understand the new one, I'll have to urgently call a locksmith. So I started this project early in the morning (just in case). My only criticism was the instructions. As I said, this was my first install, so I read the instructions carefully. Checked, all parts are present. Carefully remove the old set (in case I had to reinstall) and set aside. The problem was that the parts contained two different versions of the locking mechanism. I don't have any instructions as of this writing but the best way I can explain is the part that attaches to the edge of the door and goes through the hole, there are 2 options. One is for the raised bar (which has 2 "cymbals" options and the other is a round, flat "insert" style. The instructions only give 2 pictures and don't say it's either/or, so i'm trying to figure out how to get them to approach who would put that handle back in the box and put that old lock back on the door and i didn't need the raised plate style that was of course after i already had two had drilled new holes in the edge of the door for the "panel". Luckily a little putty and paint was fixed. I wish the instructions were clear: do you have option A or option B? It would have made this project smoother. But the rest of the installation was a breeze.The locking mechanism on the latch is very smooth and works great.The handle has no lock but opens the door with no problems.I am very pleased with the look of the new black handle aces and recommend it widely he. I hope this review helps another person who might be a little intimidated when it comes to replacing things like this.
