Review on Sena SPH10 Bluetooth Stereo Headset / Intercom for Outdoor Sports - Black by David Stover

I'm glad I bought them I think.

Overall: While I'm a bit disappointed in some aspects of this product, I'm glad I bought two of these. What I like: Great sound. Easy two way communication with my wife at the bow of our boat at anchor, mooring or through shallow passes. Full duplex mode makes them so easy to use (once set to intercom mode). The microphone really removes a lot of background noise. They are very comfortable and feel secure on my head. And what I don't like: quite a complicated process of pairing two devices with lots of button presses and holding the buttons for a certain number of seconds. It's a really clunky user interface - not intuitive at all! To make matters worse, the guides are really bad. I think they were probably written by someone who has English as a second language and some things must have been lost in translation. I don't usually care as I don't read manuals very often, but these headsets are so confusing to use that I have to pull out the manual every time we use them (4 times already). Every time I connect our two headsets. together they fail to connect on the first try. I wait and wait and finally he gives up. They always mate on the second try. It would be nice to be able to configure them to pair their default activation mode. (And while I'm asking about things that aren't there, why can't we have one, a simple power button or button?) To fix the pairing issue, I tried updating the firmware. This worked on our first headset with a lot of trial and error, but I can't get the computer (have tried two computers now) to recognize our second headset. I gave up. Here's my final complaint, and it's not Sena's fault: The sound is so good that we can hear every little thing being said softly, including all the grunts, sighs and moans, as well as the creative language when things don't work as they should planned. . Update: in three months of using these headphones they have failed many times, we either cannot turn them on or they turn off unexpectedly. One turned out to be "bricked", but I found others with the same problem, and some of them were able to get them working again, but by updating the firmware. I'm really, really not impressed with the quality. The only reason I give them any stars at all is because when they work, they're great. I just wish there were more cases where they worked!
