Sailing on my MacGregor 26X during the day and masting/unmasting every time I spray the boat, it's been quite a while and I'm looking for ways to reduce set-up and tear-down time. I replaced the mounting bolts and nylon locks that (1) attach the boom to the mast and (2) attach the nail to the boom. Now these steps take seconds (instead of minutes) and require no tools. I will still use anchors when the mast is up for long periods, but every minute saved is another minute I can sail during the day.
