Brilliant idea but scorching execution

Pros: The concept design of this kettle is great. I really like how small it is when folded. The large, well-weighted base and narrow top also make it very sturdy, which is great for cooking in a crowded RV with two kids crawling all over the place. The Bad: It makes boiling hot water (obviously) but will literally burn you sooner or later. There are a few issues with the design of the kettle itself: 1) when you tilt it to pour water, the steam from inside inevitably hits your hand holding the handle, painfully reminding you how hot the water is inside is. This seems to be because the lid doesn't fit well even when installed in the right direction, and this almost always happens. 2) It's too easy to put the lid back on, which seals the kettle spout. If you attempt this, your unsuspecting loved one will tilt the kettle further than necessary, putting more water pressure on the lid, which in turn will cause the lid to fall off. After the obstacle is removed, screams of horror are heard as hot water is poured on the hand of the aforementioned loved one, who is holding an aeropress. It happened to both of us, but the second time my wife's hand stayed painfully red for several days. NO FUN AND NOT SAFE. The lid should be pressed against the top of the kettle to prevent it from falling out, or fixed more tightly to prevent it from being pulled back on. No, that stupid arrow on the lid isn't enough. My previous collapsible kettle (useful TP147) never had this problem, never burned myself from it. Unfortunately, it's hit the ground too many times, so I've replaced it with a more compact model. If I had known it would bring pain and suffering (well, literally) I would never have bought it. So this will most likely end up in the trash as I can't even in good conscience give it away.
