As everyone said the magnet is not glued so attach it to a metal table and remove it the magnet stays on the table. Also mine was in use, someone scratched it from use and then sent it back and they sent it to me. I installed a countersink washer large enough to hold the magnet with a nut that clears the bottom so the unit sits flat and works well, the magnet stays on the base. But they sent me a used device at new price, so 1 star.
