I really love this thing, and yet. nope

I was so excited to get this grinder for my new home as I've only heard good things about it from a trusted source. I want my review here to reflect that excitement, but the honeymoon is over and a cancellation might be in order. through a delightful variety of rudeness. It's surprisingly quiet for the speed and consistency of the grind and to be honest it's the perfect addition to my stainless steel kitchen. The ONLY reason I can't rate this machine better is the only flaw in its design: coffee grounds get everywhere. Luckily there is no disaster when it comes to grinding! This bit easily slides into a large cup with the locking lid in place, which is very easy. If you dare get your hands on those freshly ground beans, you'll get a squirt, a shower, and sometimes a full *squirt* of fine, now-wasted, powdered beans. While the loss is small (a teaspoon for every 3/5 cup), the coffee will cascade all over the base (which holds the cup) and your counter unless you physically lift the grinder and tilt/shake it vigorously for a few cups. Seconds for the parachute to completely drop the load. Hold the cup on the silly thing so your floor doesn't pick up the cup of tea on its own. It's a minor design flaw, yes, but it really annoys me that I have to tear down my brand new, shiny, expensive coffee grinder before I can make a cup of coffee in the morning. I mean, avoiding unnecessary violence is one of the reasons we drink coffee between papers and spreadsheets, right?

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Damaged
