I am the President of our State Camping Club, leader of two Boy Scout patrols, and the mother of the camping family, and I take every opportunity to camp. I couldn't walk anymore due to the COVID lockdown but I was able to pitch our tent in the yard. It's cold, but at least we can get out! There was a big storm last weekend and I was in a brand new (untested) tent. I was worried about the strong wind for good reason - I lifted a corner. I went out (getting socks) and used these bets as substitutes or side bets. Although the storm intensified, we did not have time to lift other corners - success! These are 10 inch stakes with a twisted length to make them easier to drive into hard ground. Rotating also makes it (kinda) easier to get them off the ground, effectively preventing them from breaking off the ground. I think it's all about the rotation - when you put them in they go by themselves, but when you pull them out you can rotate them as you go. The plastic tip is handy for pounding and I had no problem hitting what I wanted (I tried another set with a very narrow head, resulting in more fingers than stakes). To be honest I'm surprised how well they work and how much I like them!
