Looks great, works great, a pleasure to assemble

Excellent product, I have absolutely no complaints about it. The pieces are made of what appears to be high-quality wood, the written instructions are clear (and some of the trickier steps come with a QR code you can scan for video instructions, which is handy), and it all fits together perfectly. All in all this is a great set that will end up giving you a nice glowing globe to keep on your desk, shelf or bookshelf. However, there are a few things to consider. If this is your first attempt at solving one of these wooden puzzles, you should know that it's a little harder than usual. The instructions are more than adequate, but you must be patient. While the wooden parts are of high quality, they are made from thin and quite brittle wood so it would be easy to break the part during some of the more difficult assembly steps. When this happens, you might want to have superglue and accelerator on hand to fix everything and keep moving without waiting too long. However, this is the only thing you may need external consumables for. In fact, no glue is required when assembling the model. Once that's done, all the gears line up properly, making it easy to rotate the globe or raise or lower the magnifying glass (which actually works properly to magnify the image). The rotation of the gears can stop from time to time if you are not careful - in this case do not use force, just gently return the separated part to its place. And make sure to rub the gears with the included wax to ensure they work properly. All in all this is a great kit that is really fun to put together and you will be left with one piece. Decor that I think everyone will enjoy looking at for a long time.

Cons
  • Good but not great
