Pretty Good: Building Toy

I wasn't planning on getting this one, but after getting Han Solo's Landspeeder and being impressed with it, I decided to buy this one as well. The speeder itself isn't THAT interesting, but it goes very well with the movie version (aside from the exhaust color as others have pointed out), so it's not really Lego's fault. In terms of fitment I like the cockpit and the 'kennel' zone is pretty good although there is a bar in the kennel door that is only attached at one end which is a bit suspect. In the finished assembly, however, this is not very noticeable. The opening compartment in the back with a small structure for storing bones and a food/water bowl for the dogs is a nice feature too, but I wish the Rebolt could fit in there! He has nowhere to go! The rotating shooter on the front is a good idea in theory, but difficult to use in practice. The look of the knobs doesn't really bother me and I like the idea of having a similar in-game feature, but since the shooter doesn't work very elegantly, I think the area inside should be used for this mechanism. to hold a small sled with bone/dog bowl. Then the back is open to accommodate the Rebolt. I'm sure it can be customized somehow (it's Lego after all) but I haven't tried. Speaking of Rebolt, the minifigures, Moloch in particular, are my favorite part of the set. Moloch's helmet and print are cool and unique, and I love the print on the "dress" that shows some tentacles on the back. The Rebolt is a little less unique but has nice typography and design. These guys are incredible. The dogs are a one-piece printed molding that looks beautiful enough to be fun for play or display. for its size with many characters and accessories. They've been on sale lately and I think if you can get them for a discount it's a great buy. For full price it would be harder to call.
