I purchased a 10.5ft ladder for use with my 25ft camper trailer. I needed something portable and durable and this works great. The mechanism is very smooth and unlike other similar ladders, it can be retracted by simply pressing the bottom buttons. There is an internal device that releases all sections of the bar and slowly retracts - no need to worry about pinching your fingers. The ladder weighs more than I expected, but it's not heavy to carry. On the other hand, the legs are small and do not adhere well to surfaces other than the ground. For your safety, you should have someone hold the ladder to keep it in place while you are standing on it.
