Review on 🚴 Enhanced SEO: SportRack SR4883 Upshift Upright Roof Mount Bike Carrier by Michael Barry

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Inexpensive roof rack. Solid but elementary.

****UPDATE**** I downgraded from 4 to 3 stars The plastic clip actually scratched my bike's downtubes. I stuck a transparent film on the tubes to protect them and cut them through. I plan to add some rubber to the clamp to help. I spoke to Thule/SportRack and they were very polite but just told me that it is and there are no plans to fix the issue. That being said, what I said below still applies, ****************** The trunk fits both my 54cm Trek road bike and my 17.5 -inch Diamondback Overdrive Comp (27.5 inch). ") sits very firmly on my Thule roof rack. Even on the 70 mile freeway the bikes didn't budge. A large mountain bike can be tricky to assemble as your arms may not be long enough to reach the down tube But so far so good for my two bikes Two things to note, the instructions are a bit lacking, and it shows a few things going wrong so you'll need to use your brain a bit to figure out how goes. Not a big deal for someone who can do it all on their own, almost no instruction is needed. The other thing is that the plastic parts that hold the frame are not soft, just hard plastic, so I'm assuming that they will eventually scratch the finish on my bikes I will be provided with clear sticky scratch guard that can be put on frame at this point the lock on the handle works great but the trunk won't go on the roof carrier fixed. Overall it's durable and a boot that I feel safe in with my bikes. But you get what you pay for, this is not a Thule Sidearm. This is a budget roof rack.
