I am a paramedic with the fire department and have been looking for a suitable car seat for my pup for a very long time. Dogs also die in car accidents every day. Keep yours safe. I have a 40lb chocolate mix that she loves and would buy another in a heartbeat. The front seat is fun, but the airbag isn't safe for our furry kids and there's just too much room. on the back seat. Hammocks in the back seats are nice, but they take up the entire back and limit access to the floor. This is ideal for small to medium sized dogs. It mounts securely in the rear seat on the larger of the 60/40 splits and buckles around the seat back with a seat belt and strap. It's going nowhere when you hit the brakes. With the raised edge, the puppy can safely stand and balance on its feet. No more slipping puppies. My dog sleeps, sits, stands and rolls in it comfortably while I drive. I use it in combination with a quality dog harness that attaches to the headrest (like a dog harness) in an accident and prevents it from falling out the window. Because of this, the car seat comes with clips that attach to a tether, but they are definitely not suitable for dogs that weigh more than a few pounds. ALL forms of dog car seats should have some form of harness, and the harness best distributes the impact force away from the dog's neck. Front or bandana friendly pockets, collapsible water bowls and spare leash. Nothing bulky, otherwise the Velcro won't close. It folds up and comes with a travel bag. Perfect for a portable dog bed. Take it on a hike, to lunch, on a trip, to the beach or just leave it in your car. The build quality of the car seat is an 8/10 in my book. The pockets could be bigger, the built in leashes are not for safety, the turning function is good but the fluffy side gets dirty very easily and the zippers are not of the highest quality. I am very happy with my purchase and feel a lot better knowing my dog is safer with this and the harness.
