First, the switch is way down the power cord. Trying to suck it up and turn it off is next to impossible. Second, the drain cord is stiff and slack. I tried using a suction cup but it wouldn't hold it by the bucket. We end up splashing water everywhere. Three doesn't work for a sand-based tank. The "filter" compartment was immediately covered with sand and the whole thing was clogged. I suspect that the suction power is too strong for sandy surfaces. This means he needs to be in control of the pump to increase/decrease the flow. All in all very disappointed with the product.
