Update: I received a full refund for the defective item and gave it to the scrap metal folks who come to shop each week. I will say that even with a child 4-5 years old it is better to use bigger scooters. You can still ride bigger ones and will grow into them quickly. These smaller scooters don't ride as well as the larger ones. Bought it for my 4 year old child. In fact, he was too small for her. Also, one arm you are standing on is longer than the other. See 3 photos of the rear wheels. You can ride in a straight line, but the back of the scooter is sideways. Back to Amazon. I will most likely buy the larger version. Make sure it sits and drives straight after assembly. Bad quality control.
