My child is about 46 inches tall, weighs less than 52 pounds and is a skinny type. Bought the middle one illegally, it's a bit big for him but not big enough to bother me, he'll probably be able to use it next year, plus he has stretchy seams on his arm for when they ride, so win win! This is a great jacket, perfect for cold days, even in California we only used it in 36-32° weather. Can't comment on its strength or durability considering we've only used it a handful of times. .I'm planning tours in the snow, so I'll let you know later. But still I would recommend.
