Quick fix for leaking shower head

The problem we had (which is why most people change it) was our shower head leaking when flushing in the toilet. Long story short, this part is to make sure you don't burn yourself if someone flushes the toilet while you're in the shower. As the toilet tank fills with cold water, this device adjusts to changes in water pressure so the mix of hot and cold water in the shower stays the same. No more yelling out of the shower when someone else in the house is flushing the water. Very beautiful. But over time, the springs or seals wear out and pressurized water can get past them, even when the shower isn't running. As a result, you flush the toilet and a small amount of water flows out of the shower. A few simple steps to pop my shower handle open and replace the old part with this one (take a phone photo of each step so you know the correct orientation of everything when it's time to put it all back together) and my shower head doesn't leak Everyone. Another reviewer said you can just clean the old one, but that didn't work for me. When a new one was put in, everything was decided immediately.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Not everything fits
