There's a decent hammer out there somewhere, but it might take some work to get it out. The example I received had a small dent on the surface of the hammer as well as a hole. The ball side of the hammer was rough and not smooth, which also required some work. All in all about 45 minutes of work with a hand file and 120 grit sandpaper for a final polish on both sides got the hammer where it needed to be." out of the box "I'm not unhappy with it but even for the price I did I feel like it should come out of the box, so it gets three stars for a decent foundation, but loses two because it's inherently a bit of a DIY project, best to think of it as a set of ball-bearing hammers and set your expectations accordingly.Otherwise I have no complaints.I wanted a basic 8 ounce mallet with a wood handle and that's what I got.
