Review on Delphi AF10055 Mass Flow Sensor by Jesse Spoja

Revainrating 1 out of 5

This one only clocked up about 20,000 miles before it started behaving.

* Edit: After 3 years it started to go haywire. I'm going to buy an AC Delco model. As it is "Trademark" and the amount of money was paid, it should have taken longer. I've driven about 20,000 miles with this MAF sensor since I installed it and it has failed. Having tried several other brands and been disappointed. I decided to try this model based on the reviews here and the tests on rockauto (just google it). I reset BCM after installing this MAF. I had to use the included 4 pin to 3 pin harness adapter for my vehicle type (which is what I expected before buying). Installation was easy and convenient with no need to make any modifications or use additional resources. After about 80 miles the BCM adjusted to the new mass airflow sensor (you can check this with a good scan tool or even a $30 OBDII bluetooth reader). The results are perfect, the car purrs as it should, with a slight increase in average fuel economy per gallon, 3 in heavy city driving and about 5 when cruising on the freeway at 65-70 mph. This was the last bit I needed to fully customize my car. I've already changed the air filter to WIX, a complete Castrol synthetic oil change, a K&N Premium oil filter, a pair of Delco AC relays, an AC Delco AC control box, NGK Iridium spark plugs, Bosch Premium spark plug wires, 2 x Bosch Premium heated oxygen sensors, Delco AC temp sensor for MAF and finally this Delphi MAF sensor - 98 Chevy Malibu LS 3.1 Stock *edit: 400 miles later and it's still rocking. There's even a slight increase in performance, as acceleration is moderately better. And if you are looking for a good but cheap Bluetooth OBDII reader, I recommend "BAFX Products 34t5 Bluetooth OBDII Scan Tool for Android Devices" which is also available on Amazon.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Damaged
