As mentioned before using the CTA tool clean the recesses in the bolt head first. I first cleaned the groove with paper towel strips to soak up a lot of motor oil, then finished cleaning the groove with a QTip soaked in brake fluid. Visually inspect all flashlight cap screws to ensure they are clean. At this point the CTA tool has entered the screw head recess correctly, the slip is fully engaged with some play. Using a 1/2" drive rod I was able to cross loosen all the cap screws as recommended in the factory manual. If the headscrew recess is really clean, there is no need to drive a tool into the headscrews. The tool was well made and had no problem with the crowbar torque turning the bolts.
