This gas detector is truly amazing in this world of complex devices: plug it in, it will self-test and it's ready to use. walk. Of course, I tested the setup as recommended in the manual, but that didn't tell me for sure it would work where I installed it (see image), which isn't ideal from the ceiling. Then today I got a request to rate it, so the hell I turned on the gas without lighting the burner to see if it would actually work. I turned on the gas for about 10 seconds before smelling the mercaptan. Then another 10 seconds passed and suddenly the first warning voice sounded about a suspected gas leak, followed by a really hoarse alarm. Instead of pressing the test button to turn it off, I aired the kitchen and very soon the alarm stopped. All in all I'm impressed. I have had gas stoves for many years and sometimes I have turned on the gas without lighting the burner - carelessness on my part. I even had a gas leak due to a faulty installation. In any case, the smell of mercaptan alerted me to a leak, but as I got older my sense of smell deteriorated. So I thought this gas detector would be a good idea and I am happy to report that it is actually more than I expected. He is relatively sensitive and his fear cannot be confused with anything else!
