I have an old Asus Republic of Gamers laptop from 2013. I used it to replace a recently damaged 5400rpm hard drive that had it the perfect size and fit perfectly. After that my computer worked amazingly compared to how old, slow and damaged the old one was. Remember that if you replace the hard drive, your operating system will only exist on the old one unless you have a DVD to install your operating system. Before you take out your old hard drive, get your Windows key or ID. Also, I called Asus support about my old Windows ID because I hadn't thought about it before and they more than helped me get my old key.
