I don't know why there are so many bad reviews. The twist lock could be stiffer and the verticals could be metal. But if they were metal, it would cost at least $50. I'm glad the jaws are metal and the other two pieces are just extruded aluminum tubing making them inexpensive to manufacture, but if they were cast aluminum posts you could easily expect triple the price. All screws have metal threaded inserts which is way better than a lot of the cheap stuff on Amazon. If you are concerned about the durability of the racks then firstly you are probably using them incorrectly and secondly this is an easy fix. Remove them, remove all other parts from the rack, prepare the surfaces and fill with epoxy with a chosen filler. Done, solid racks that should stand up to whatever they're designed for. The only question that remains is whether the jaws supposedly turn too easily, it's the holder, not the vise. They remain good enough for soldering, which is what they were designed for, and not having to move everything to check the other side of the board is a blessing. Screw in the grub screws, epoxy the posts to the base, and stop bitching.
