This one is about 4 years old; it still works great. Temperature control isn't precise, but it's very consistent. Once your pan has reached the temperature, it will remain at that temperature. I use a laser thermometer to know exactly what the temperature is. Most of the heat is in the 7-inch center, so I use Calphalon and All-Clad pans, which distribute the heat evenly. It works great for basically everything. The heat is so stable that I z. B. Sous Vide Hillbilly steaks with a zipper can be cooked to exactly 130 degrees. I love this shop! Available temperatures range from 100 to 570 degrees in 5 degree segments. The timer is accurate. If you don't set a timer, I really hate how the entire device turns itself off after an hour. Many dishes take longer than an hour to cook!
