Review on R-Gaza Crash Bars - 'Police' Model for Yamaha FJR1300 2001-2022 A/AE/AS/ES by Scott Larson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I really like bars BUT.

I have a 2004 FJR, never broken or damaged. After much research and research there aren't many Gen 1 crash bar options left. I went with these bars as I have lower stretch bars and they wouldn't interfere with them. The right side fits perfectly. Then the left side would not fit without trimming the fairing. I've removed the fairing about 4 times trying to do my best not to have to dremmel the fairing. Nothing worked. I'm a hands-on guy, building and installing projects at work and around our yard every day. I am familiar with construction and assembly. What I noticed is that the top bolt mount set the plate at an angle. If you increased this angle a little, everything would fit perfectly. I had to choose to disassemble the entire front of the bike to remove both pieces or just a Dremel fairing and return. I've settled on the Dremel fairing and move on. If I didn't have this issue these bars are a solid 5 stars.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Hard to remember but it was
