Review on KYB 344110 Excel G Gas Shock by Fort Steffen

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not very good but I would probably buy again

I drove the car about 500 miles after installing it. I've noticed that these shocks don't like hot weather. As temps approach 100, a rough pad tends to reduce performance significantly, and you'll feel every little imperfection of the pad. I attribute this to foaming, which is either cheap shock fluid or gas loss, but once it cools it seems to work fine again on the same roads as well. Note that this only happens with rear shock absorbers. Monroe's up front with 25,000 miles seem good. I suppose a good basic replacement.

Pros
  • Shocks, Struts & Suspension
Cons
  • Not sure
