It gives an added layer of protection, especially when traveling home solo on public transport. I especially love that it only needs to be charged once a year but to be cautious, I will charge it at least every 6 months. For a tiny device, it packs a loud sound . It is a little bulky on my key ring but that is a small issue especially if you are in an emergency situation.
